It had been two years since I tamed the slime.

During those two years, under Grandpa’s guidance, I had focused mainly on studying magic.

And as a result…

Blessing: Blessing of the Gods

Basically…

All of my stats had grown quite a lot.

According to Grandpa’s assessment, with my current combat ability, I could defeat both Father and Mother.

When he heard that, Father looked depressed for quite a while.

But more importantly…

I had learned Alchemy.

Alchemy!

Alchemy!

Now I could finally be like those famous alchemist brothers…

All I had to do was clap my hands together and use alchemy!

Yeah.

There was a time when I genuinely thought that.

But in reality…

It was not that simple.

I’m Tenma…

I’m Tenma…

I’m Tenma…

Basically, I was a little devastated back then.

As expected, simply clapping my hands together was not enough.

Grandpa could only sigh.

He told me:

“If you want to use it, you need to properly use a magic circle.”

But then I came up with an idea.

No, rather…

A flash of inspiration struck me!

Like:

“Bzzt!”

“That’s it!”

If I could not use alchemy the same way those people did…

Then maybe I could use the method of someone else?

Like their superior…

I thought that if I drew a magic circle onto a glove and then used alchemy through it, it might work.

And the result…

Success!

By channeling magical power into a glove with a magic circle drawn on its palm…

I was able to use alchemy.

Of course…

I could not say it worked exactly the same way as theirs.

But at the very least, I could use it reasonably well.

I was genuinely moved.

Besides that…

After learning Space-Time Magic, I tried making a Magic Bag.

But as expected…

It was much harder than I thought.

After using Appraisal to examine Father’s bag and experimenting countless times…

I finally managed to create two of them.

I brought them to Grandpa so he could take a look.

The first one I made…

Ended up becoming something called a:

『Dimensional Space Bag』

A Dimensional Space Bag and a Magic Bag had some similarities.

But their effects were slightly different.

Magic Bag:

  • Its capacity is determined by the materials and crafting technique.
  • Space-Time Magic is used to expand and stabilize the interior space.
  • Time inside is suspended, so food does not spoil.
  • Living creatures cannot be stored inside.

On the other hand…

Dimensional Space Bag:

When creating a Magic Bag, if too much or too little magical power is supplied…

Sometimes neither the space nor the flow of time can be stabilized properly.

Products like that usually only end up having slightly more capacity than an ordinary bag.

Because of that…

They are considered:

“Failures.”

But the “failure” that I created…

When I supplied it with magical power, I did not activate only Space-Time Magic…

I also accidentally activated:

Creation Magic.

As a result…

The inside had an enormous capacity of roughly:

50 square meters.

When Grandpa explained it to me…

At first, I only thought:

“Oh, I made a failed item that happens to be pretty convenient.”

But after thinking about it more carefully…

Grandpa said:

“If it has reached this level, there is a high chance that other people will target it.”

“You should use magic to register yourself as its owner.”

“And at the same time, use Support Magic to add defensive functions.”

That was more or less how things went.

Recently, I had often been exchanging ideas with Grandpa and experimenting with many different kinds of magic.

My days were truly fulfilling.

But lately…

I had frequently seen monsters wandering out of the Great Ancient Forest.

On top of that…

More and more people in the village had been falling ill.

Because of that, Grandpa often said:

“I have a bad feeling about this…”

“I hope nothing happens…”

I sincerely hoped so too.

But as people often say…

Bad premonitions like that…

Have an unfortunate tendency to come true.

And because of that, I could not help feeling uneasy.
