Nakamaru Mikichi once promised his imaginary childhood friend that one day he would become a top runner in the Boston Marathon. However, as time passed, he gradually lost interest in running.

One day, he received a running watch from a mysterious sender. After putting it on, he decided to restart his life as a runner.

During one of his training sessions, Mikichi suddenly gained magical powers that protected him from a truck accident, only to be transported to another world.

There, he was recruited into the Magical Runner Brigade.

It is a military magical organization tasked with fighting monsters and mysterious anomalies that appear across both worlds.
